My last minute random trip to Winter X 12 was a raging success, I didn’t even have to sleep in my truck. Here is the rundown followed by the results that matter, skiing results. The first night Tanner Hall won superpipe gold and was bombarded with snowballs on his victory lap by spectators that thought Simon Dumont should have won, Tanner addressed this issue two nights later on stage at the Powder awards.

Props to Tanner. The next evening skiing big air… was kinda boring, it was a short head to head competition and Jon beat out Charles 1260 octo with his patented kangaroo flip, whatever. The next night was the Red Bull King of Quarters competition on Aspen mountain. There was a giant quarterpipe that measured about 30 feet tall, all of the invited riders had 5 runs to show their stuff.Simon was boosting then he went 30 feet out and hit the deck and slid to the bottom, he hurt his shoulder and was out of the rest of the competition and the slopestyle competition the next day but he did win the award for biggest air of the night.

On the last day of Winter X 12 was the slopstyle finals where Andreas Hatviet took top honors, I missed it so I could beat the impending storm home. If you missed anything you can see a bunch of the metal runs at http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/expn/winterx12.
Here are all of the results and stay tuned for details of this years SIA convention.
