Two weeks ago at the last Honda Ski Tour stop in Breck Simon Dumont barley missed out on third place by only 0.08 points, at the Aspen stop he blew away the competition by almost 7 points with a score of 97.50 to take first place. This win was the redemption that Dumont was looking for and it should be noted that Dumont’s huge score of 97.5 was a victory lap after he was already guaranteed the win. Dumont’s final run went like this; huge 540 truckdriver to a flatspin alley-oop 540 next a 1260 and finally a alley-oop 1080 nearly running out of pipe. Was this the best run of this season so far… this reporter says yes.
There were other skiers killing it today like, Mike Riddle who had a decent first run of 85.75 but he cleaned it up enough on his second run to earn himself a score of 90.75 and second place. Colby James West lost a pole on his first run scored a 22.50 and landed in 11th place and he managed to perform under pressure on his second run to score third place.
This competition went great and it is highly suggested to watch it on ABC March 11th at 2 PM EST. The final Ski Tour stop in two weeks will determine who is the overall points leader and the owner of a Honda Element.
