Two Plank productions newest release “Screenplay” had showings this week in Denver and Boulder at the Gothic and Boulder theaters respectively. Both showings had a smaller turnout, but the energized atmosphere was still in the air (at least the Boulder showing). The usual format was followed; pro skier signing autographs (Steele Spence at the Denver showing), there was a raffle (top prize a pair of Ninthward Skis courtesy of Colorado Freeskier), and the movie started late as usual. That is the format for ski movie showings learn it, know it, live it, but I digress.
Screenplay was shot over two seasons and there was about 1,500 hours of editing put in to this film. It has a good pace and a diverse soundtrack, it was tempting to head bob to but wasn’t too distracting from the footage, except “I’m So Excited” which I don’t think fit in. The best segment in my opinion was Kiffor Berg, his part has great shots, sick tricks and deep pow. Other notable moments are the BASE jumping and the intro. I would have liked to see the skiers have just a little more personality show, because the only thing defining them was their clothing, just my opinion. Overall my first viewing of a Two Plank production was very impressive and I’m excited to see what the future holds for this up and coming company.
